problem with envelope sizes?
Jul 9th, 2009, 9:49pm

i have purchased some of my gcu cards at different times...   i am getting ready for a show - so i ordered plastic covers to put the cards and envelopes into

everything was fine for approx 1/4 of the cards I have    -

but then the envelopes from a recent order did not fit into the plastic sleeves i purchased

 - they are about 1/8" too big in length and width

have the envelope sizes changed?  I bought the sleeves based on the first envelopes i received - they measured to be "A7" envelopes

not sure what to do now except purchase more plastic sleeves - i already spent $39

do the envelope sizes change often?  don't know if I should return the sleeves i have and order bigger ones
- or just get bigger sleeves  in addition to what i already have "In case" next time i get cards - the envelopes are smaller again???

Confirmed by our printing partner, they consistently use A7 size envelopes (5.25 x 7.25).  However they could in fact come from different envelope vendors/sources (based on availability, price, terms, etc).  SO although they are all A7 size envelopes there can be some variance in the exact dimensions.  You'll notice a difference in the flap size/style as well.

Based on your feedback we have stressed to them that consistency is important however we can not dictate their sources to remain identical.

As for your sleeves, I'm sorry  undecided  The best I can share is to use a sleeve that will accommodate the size variances in an A7.  I guess kind of like having your skinny day jeans and not so skinny day jeans.  I know it's not ideal but something we have to be prepared for.

I appreciate your attention to this matter.  I found another site that sold just envelopes and purchased a bulk quantity of 5.25x7.25

thanks
