Question?

Just wondering...could there be a problem with my url or something else when I notice that new cards I submit, do not show up in the NEW CARDS section, or cards sold, never come up in the RECENT CARDS SOLD section on GCU's home page?
AND a few of my friends have recently told me that they can only get to my store by going through GCU and typing in my store name to bring up a card...then getting to my store through the card? I do not know if these are just coincidences or not. does anyone know if these are problems connected or separate, or are they problems at all?
For those of us who will NEVER be in the popular section of GCU, I still enjoyed seeing my cards come up in at least new cards....now I don't see them anymore, same with cards sold?

Reply #1 - Jul 9^th, 2009, 9:07am ok after several days of watching.....no sooner than I write this, I finally just noticed one pop up! still...something doesn't seem right about getting to my store. My son's computer will not let him either...It literally says it will DAMAGE HIS COMPUTER!

Have your friends tried bookmarking your page? Have you tried inserting your URL as a link into email for them? What browser is your son using? Could it have to do with his security settings? Kathy

Hello Cynthia, I too was able to follow your store link without issue. I agree with Kathy, the message your son got is typical of something that will show up when your security settings are set to stop anything that your computer does not recognize.

As far as all the other concerns with your card showing. Don't worry too much about something being wrong on your end. I sold over 200 cards in my first 2 months here and never once managed to catch my card being shown in the "Just Sold"...they were there, I have no doubt, I just never managed to see them. Same with New Cards.

I might add that I wonder if people are getting confused when they try to get to your store. Because I noticed that your store banner reads Ivory and Lace Custom Designs: but then the url to get to your store is:

http://www.gcuniverse.com/ivoryandlacecards

I am wondering if you should make them identical so there is no confusing what the name of your store is for your returning customers? Just a thought, not sure it will make any difference.

Big Thanks to you all! Kathy and Doreen, my husband took a look...and YES, it was his security settings! (he uses internet explorer, as I prefer firefox)...I would never have thought that his security settings would have stopped us like that and brought up a message that said THAT!
I filled my husband in on what Doreen and Kathy thought and SURE ENOUGH! My husband said "could have been the name of my store" .....lol...(my husband and sons always tease me about that name)...They are always telling me it sounds like some kind of "sexy apparel store" lol... Roll Eyes

so... I have NOT lived this one down! My husband said "Cindy...parental controls are NOT going to let a kid go to a store called Ivory and Lace!!! ( I called it this when I strictly did wedding invitations) so I just kept the name! lol! Kathy...I just HAD to tell'em yours is called " Sensual Moments" lol Grin

Thank You too Cara...I just changed that url too...because last week it was forcing a fourth line (that would only show the top tip of a line that no one could make out on the back of my cards)...so someone suggested I just shorten the url name...so I took out the custom designs and just put cards...but, if all of you got to my store just fine...I will not worry about it anymore...(I did learn something about security settings though!) Thanks So Much!
