question about store report
May 28th, 2009, 7:52pm

hi,
maybe someone can explain this to me...
when i look at my store report it says i have sold 40 cards - but if i look at my cards sold section
it shows the cards i sold, order number etc...but also shows the quantity.  It might say "card" and have a number 1 under it - then in the next column to the right it will say "quanity" and say 19.
so - why does the quanity column under the  cards sold section show many many more than 40 but on the overall store report it says "40" cards sold??????  this is confusing.   I mean if i sold 10 of 1 card don't i get comissions on all 10? or only on 1 even though 10 is the quantity?

is anyone really understanding me???
thanks for any help.

Are you sure you aren't looking at the number of clicks which is to the right of quantity? The store report shows how many cards you've sold in the last 90 days, unless you change the date range over on the left-hand side. I hope this is helpful.

hi -
nope...i double checked.  the summary says 27 cards sold.  but under the "cards sold" tob it says:
date - site - order# - card - quantity - clicks.   under the  "card" colum there are ones and twos and they all add up to 27 - like the 27 in the summary.  under quantity there are 11's, 19's, 1's...a mixed bag  of numbers adding up to some where over a hundred.  the "clicks" column has no numbers in it at all.  my earned commission is closer to the 27 number and no where near the quantity number.

what should i think about this?

thanks,
stacy

Have you checked the Date Range on the left side of the Store Report page? The date range shown in the Store Report defaults to the last 90 days.

Stacy,
That quantity you see in that column is the total number of cards in that order placed that included the card of yours.   So, 100 cards might have been in the order, but only one was yours.  Hope this explanation helps.

hi,
sorry but that still doesn't make sense to me...
if the quantity column says 11 and the card column says 1 - then i assume one of the 11 cards was purchased by me...right? so that would me there were then 10 pieces of that particular card that sold.
If so and i continue on down the column like that...there is still a huge discrepancy in cards vs. quanity.
?????

Here is a line from my store report after clicking on cards sold.

May 16, 2009      GCU.com      117456      1      131

That means that GCU order 117456 placed on May 16 was for a total of 131 cards and one of them was mine.

Right...that's how i looked at it after you told me that.  mine looks exactly like you stated yours does.
but, if you continue down the colum it says something like this;
may 16, 2009   gcu.com  117456 (what ever the order number)   cards: 1     quantity: 10     clicks
but then it conitues all the way down --------  card 2    quantity 12
                                                                       1                  7
                                                                       1                  3
                                                                       1                 10.....etc. etc.

so doesn't that mean that the quantity sold - less my card sold to myself - is what i would be paid comission on?   like;  1     10    i would make comissions on 9 of these ten cards?   If i add up the quanty column (for the last three months - not changing any date range) it may add up to 100 - then less my sales to myself - lets say 20 - so i should get comission on 80 cards right?   is comission on 80 cards only add up 16 dollars? that doesn't look right to me - perhaps i have the comission wrong...what is the comission per card?  that could be it!

These explanations make sense and are more or less the true picture, but after doing a bit of checking myself, I have to confess that it's very confusing and also does not always add up. I can give one very obvious example: on one certain amazing day, an order was placed for 200 (!) cards of one of my designs.  In that part of the store report being discussed here, it shows the 200, but in "quantity" it says 132, which I happen to know (from different reports) is the number of clicks that particular card has received (and obviously more cards than 132 were sold in that order, as it was for 200). Yet there are no clicks listed in the appropriate column, nor would the numbers all fit if everything were moved one column to the right.

It would seem that some of the numbers are not in the correct place. I never would have noticed if not for this discussion and that one very obvious example of mine, because otherwise, at a glance, it appears logical.

Conclusion: something is off? Now I realize why I only look at the abridged version!
Stacy, the answer you receive from the administrators should be interesting.

Yup - right Joan.  My Click column is blank and the Cards Column actually is the CLICKs to date for that card.  The Cards Sold Store Report never shows how many cards for others were in the order - just our own cards, but it does show in the email we see when a card sells.

My Cards Sold report table is down at the bottom of the page, which is a long ways down when you sell a lot of cards in the 3 month period.  I thought my table was just missing as only the thumbnails show above.  I think this is a programming error.
