Has anyone heard of redbubble? I heard that it's another really good place to post your artwork for sale as far as selling photography and prints. Does anyone know about this site? Is it good? Roll Eyes

Hi, I have a site there. That's how I heard about GCU.  I don't know how many sell there, but it's a great place to see great photography and artwork. (It's quite humbling, in fact!  But also very inspiring.)   There are many different interest groups you can belong to and participate in.  http://cathysherman.redbubble.com   You can get your own free website.

Raina,
I have a shop over on RedBubble.   I've sold a couple of shirts and a couple of prints but not near as much as on Zazzle or CafePress.   Some people do quite well there.   I really don't spend much time there as GCU is very time consuming. Smiley

Hi Delores - Do You do better on Cafe Press or Zazzle in terms of sales?  I have a shop on Zazzle, haven't tried Cafe Press yet.

Jacqueline,
The sales are in "spurts."   I will go for a while with little Zazzle activity and then suddenly will have several sales.  The same for CafePress.    I guess they probably average out to about the same as far as spread over a year goes.   Before I joined GCU, I spent more time working the shops over there but the past year or so I have pretty much let those shops run themselves.   There just isn't enough hours in a day to really run them all well.   I guess I enjoy GCU and the cards and so I tend to spend more of my time here.

Delores - That's what I've experienced at Zazzle, too, sales in spurts.  I was spending most of my time on GCU's site, but my card sales have been very slow lately - so haven't felt motivated to make new cards. Am trying to make more things for Zazzle!

I like Red Bubble but I don't get any traffic from it which = no sales.  It may be that I'm not paying enough attention to my stream but for some reason the layout bothers me and you can right click the pic and download it.  I actually like the layout of SmugMug better but it's not free.  There are a lot of options to choose from when you make your pages.  I think SmugMug is better for photography but they do sell other things.  I've posted some of my cards on my site.  I get a fair amount of activity but sales are really slow!!! They do offer a watermark and you're not suppose to be able to right click the pic.   Wink

I have artwork on redbubble, zazzle and imagekind. I have not sold a thing on redbubble. Have sold two items on zazzle and nothing on imagekind.

I really like the way imagekind is set up, but to have an extensive gallery, you have to pay a monthly fee. I thought I would try the free gallery, and if it paid off, I would go for paying a fee to have a larger gallery, so far nothing.

I have sold a few photos on stock websites, but I have only been selling art for about six months now, so I am not expecting a lot right now.

I am called randysgrandma on the sites I mentioned

Ah yes imagekind I have heard of them too! But I had read a very interesting article on redbubble and how it is good to sell prints and t-shirts on their site for artists, how it's up and coming. But now that I hear back about them it sounds like it would take a bit of self marketing.
Does imagekind have fees? Smiley

Hi, I have Redbubble on the "list of to do's".  I have a shop at Cafepress which I've had for years, opened a Zazzle shop and Imagekind shop for prints last month, along with GCU.

To get regular sales on ANY site, you absolutely have to update the site at the very least every month.  Websites (web-stores) that don't get updated, are simply skipped over by search engines and therefore your sales will diminish or go to zero.

The second criteria is if you don't have hundreds of designs, you'll never get found.  Cafepress will tell you this if you read the "how to become a big seller" portion of their program.  So, if you choose to open a store or two, make sure you add something new every month and that you build what you offer so that you can be found in the 6,000,000 designs.  Grin

Just my experience and opinion.
