Types Of Cards
Sep 18th, 2008, 5:58pm

Ok.... what do you guys do when an image will fit several types of cards? For example... my Halloween images would make good blank, invitations, thank you, and Happy Halloween cards. Do you use the image to make all 4 cards, or do you pick one and forget the rest? Thanks.

Mary, thanks for asking that question.  I too, was wondering how most artists handle the image that has multiple uses.

Make it for each occasion and in the artists notes make a mention of each one incase a customer wants that design in the other occasions too.

I use the image for anything that may be appropriate.

Ooooo.... thank you!  Smiley I didn't realize that the artist's notes actually showed up in the shop. I thought it was for personal notes.

I was adding each design to a few different types of cards and was really worried about whether or not I was doing the right thing. Thank you everyone!

Let's clarify, because some restrictions apply to image re-use -

You can use the exact same image for 3 cards only. For example, you have a photograph of a rose. If you make no changes to that image, such as text, color, etc., then you can only use that image to make 3 cards.

This restriction does not apply to relationship or age specific cards.

Hi folks, I can't seem to find it but does anyone have the exact size of the printed cards both vertical and horizontal?

Hi Edward!

When you are logged in, go to Manage Store > Create a Card. Under Image Requirements, you'll find a link to download a template. Alternately, at the bottom of this page, you'll see a link to Artist FAQ. In the FAQ, there's a link to the template (I think it's in Q12).

GAH! Thanks! Maybe that's why I woke up to find some of my cards "On Hold" instead of "Pending" this morning. I would have thought someone would have emailed me and told me why they're on hold though.  undecided
