Artist Credits
Jun 28th, 2008, 3:33pm

I know there was a topic on here about this but I can't find it so I will just start!
YESTERDAY I RECIVED A BEUTIFUL CARD FROM A FRIEND WHO ORDERED FROM GCU( like I instructed all my friends to do  Smiley)

HERE IS THE ISSUE! I wish I knew which artist did the card...no where on the card did it say as it was ordered before the changes and not only that some store logos do not say the artists name...which as a card buyer, artist, and card receiver I always like to know...so in answer to those who are in question as to putting their name as a copyright on the front of the card...after much thought and frustration I say Please do it...you just may get some sales because of it.... Cool IT REALLY IS SO SMALL ON THE CARD(depending on which font you choose but "times" works really well) YOU CAN ALSO MOVE IT AROUND TO A MORE DESIRABLE SPOT ON THE IMAGE...BUT IT SHOULD BE THERE REALLY. Most people do not look at the back of cards! I have to tell my relatives to do so and then they get it!  Huh That it is my design...i know you can't choose your relatives but friends well different story! please Reconsider using all the tools made available and SIGN your ART!

Good point, Linda.
Hey if you're still interested in who the artist is, you might try looking at the image and coming up with a list of keywords and try searching the site that way.
Thanks for some good insight.

I agree, Linda, I will continue to put my name on the front with my copyright mark.  I use an 8pt font, optima, and do not think it spoils the image at all.  I am glad that I don't feel it is necessary now to put my store's URL on the image any longer, www.gcuniverse.com/flyinghorsedesign was  bit long, but I also don't think that my sales hurt any because of it..  I have had the best quarter to date.

The change that GCU has initiated lately are marvelous.  Keep up the great work, folks!

I think its all about personal choice, personally I would not buy a card with an artist credit on the front.  I think it takes a way from the images and in many cases, not all  can make the card look unprofesional, . Having the credits on the back is a great idea, Im so pleased with this.  It now means I can have credit for all my designs.
