I've been hesitant to write this, but I feel it is due.
Can there not be a way that people who are having problems with technical issues  communicate directly to the staff and not all us filks?
I say this because I don't have the time  as some otheres might...My life does not revolve around whether oor not I have sales _I am a real artist attempting to make a living as an artist, not a clip-art card producer _ and I don't need to know when someone is having problems figuring out how to work withthe GCU format.
Forums are suppose to be about tips and whatnot to help each other learn how to market in the allowed medim of the site.
All these messges in my e-mail about "Here's my new stuff"  should be inthe "pimp yoour stuff catagorie.  The repeated messages about "my cards are comming out weird this time even though I've been herer longer thatn anyone else and I am pisse about it!" is stricktly a waste of my time and creative space.
Could we not have it arranged so that folks who need expertise have an adress to  ask for help and make the forum a forum?

I love having my own logo and ULR on the back of the card.  It's such a mega-professional touch.

And international shipping by the end of the year sounds super-cool.  I'll finally get to order my own cards; and as a result may put a little more effort into my store.  (I have let it all lapse a bit due to being able to get my cards from a different POD site.)

and pictures on the inside?  That's more my style; I love two part jokes that require an inside punchline-picture.  I have several of these ready to upload when it becomes available.

Thank you thank you for organising all this for us.  We really apprecialte all your hard work and deliberations on our behalf.

what a cool site

Cheesy These are outstanding developments Mindy. Thanks to all at GCU for making this happen!

P.S. to David at Cabin Fever Artworks. Since you are so concerned about proper forum participation, here's a tip. Your suggestions would have been more appropriately posted in the Tips & Suggestions thread, not in the Announcements thread. And your petty shot at people who are not "real artists" like you -- well, I think you should have deleted that snide and ridiculous tidbit all together.

What a great news!
Having own URL and the artist info on the back of the card is fantastic!
Thanks Wink

can we get any specifics like image size and stuff like that?

White stock is good. I'd sorta given up on things here maybe I can start all over again

Hi Harry,
Is this what you're looking for re: the artist profile image?
*Please note the ideal image size for your Picture is 200 pixels x 200 pixels

Mindy I see that you're posting.  I hate to ask, would you look at the credit you  are using on the back of my cards.  From my end even on large view it is still fuzzy.  I was having bad distortion problems just at the time of the change over.
problem was solved in my profile photo, but when I pulled up BigDates it still looked distorted.  But really couldn't tell because of fuzzyness.   Thanks....Norval

I'm very happy with this!
Thanks! Smiley

The only thing so far...
I wish you'd added a new image option of "Shop Branding" so I could have a photo for my profile, and ALSO a brand image on the cards.

GCU.. please consider allowing us to have a SECOND picture for our brand, so our 'Profile' can still show our photo?
When I look at an "Artist's profile" I like to see the artist!!!
========================

The photo FINALLY updated in my shop, but the BAC was still wrong.
Everyone, once you change your profile photo, and wait for it to propagate the system, you STILL need to go to the BOC editor, and "SAVE" to get the card backs to update! Even if you are not changing anything other than the photo. Smiley

Any changes that impact your BOC Credits (url, storename, photo, artist display name) will automatically be refreshed in your BOC Credits preview and back of card image view on a 6 to 8 hour update cycle.

If you want to see those changes asap then yes you do need to go into the BOC Credits Editor and click Save Changes.

Important to know that when an order is placed for your card we "grab" the most recent files/images at the time of the order so you can be confident that any changes you make will be reflected in the printed product.

As for a secondary image, by the end of July we will be offering the ability for artists to create their own credits image and use that in place of our standard credits.  This would allow you to have different images for your storefront and BOC credits.

Often items do get posted in the wrong boards however for the most part I think the threads are fairly true.  We can try to be a bit more proactive on our admin side about moving threads to more appropriate topics/boards.

Part of a forum however is shared information that may be beneficial to others.  Most often the answers to technical questions are very helpful to those that have had or will have the same issue.  Ideally users should search the forum before they ask their question to see if it has been asked/answered before.

For the most part requests to GCU for help should be posted on the GCU Support board:  http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/forum/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=support

In addition we have a Contact Us page that also gets used:
http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/about/contactus.asp

As Corrie points out, you may want to turn off some of your board notifications.

We will be moving this post to a more appropriate topic  Wink

Wow Mindy that sounds amazing. Will the card I ordered yesterday be the new or the old printer? Just curious as to what I will be receiving,
thanks
Linda Lou
Cheesy

GCU went live with the new printer on Wed 6/25 in the late afternoon.  When you receive your card if it has your credits on the back it's the new printer, if it doesn't it's the old one.
