1.  Welcome, Sheryl!  You already know that my mom and I are big fans of your cards!  They are beautiful!  And I so love your photography!   I'm a Nikon gal, but wowzee ... your images tempt me to convert to Canon -- except I know it's the skill of the photographer behind the lens--not the equipment--that creates outstanding images like yours.  I know your cards well do well here!  Keep up the great work, and again ... Welcome!!!   Smiley

2.  Hello and Welcome, Carolyn!  I'm so delighted to see you here!  I know your work from microstocks, and I'm certain you have found a great outlet here at GCU for your wonderful images!   I'm already thinking ..."ooooh, ooh, so many of your images are perfect for greeting cards!"  I think you'll be amazed at how well these two markets work together.  Initially, I would use my stock images and work them into greeting card designs ... now, I find that tend to work on greeting card designs first and then translate them to ms images.  It kind of puts you into the designer's frame of mind, and I've noticed that it has helped my ms sales as well.  Best of luck luck to you here, girlfriend!  Can't wait to see some of my favorite images from your portfolio on GCU cards!   Smiley

3.  Welcome Raina and all recent Newbies!   GCU is a not only a great place to sell and buy greeting cards, you'll find it is one of the most helpful and inspiring communities on the web!  Welcome aboard to all of you!  Smiley

Wishing each and everyone huge success and tons of sales!    Grin

So many wonderful supportive messages here. The community spirit here is really nice.

Teri, again ... what a SMALL world! It's so cool to run into people you know across the different sites we contribute to. Thank you SO much for your incredible comments on my ms images! So many images, where DO I start. Just dig in.

It's great looking at all the different perspectives on our world that are portrayed in the many different ports here. Different ideas, different layouts, and lovely work. It's nice to be a part of GCU, and I'm looking forward to many more uploads. Actually, REALLY, REALLY, looking forward to the downloads!  Grin

Good luck all, and many thanks.

Thanks, Nicole and all for beautiful comments.

Nicole, I am very definitely interested in the Squidoo thing, but I don't know much about it. Is there somewhere I can go to understand what it's all about and how it works? I will follow-up on your directions, too, but I'd like to know the basics first. Thanks!

Grin Hi Sher, Carolyn and all of the newbies here! You will find this is a great place to "work"  Wink

Anyway in case you missed the other thread I pasted it here for you. You are all welcome to add your stores just email me directly Nikki@13BlackCatsDesigns.com with the subject of SQUIDOO LISTING and add the following:

For anyone wanting to add their store to the GCU store listing on Squidoo (http://www.squidoo.com/PaperGreetingCards) I get nothing out of this as 100% of anything earned goes to the ASPCA and The Humane Society. I am doing it stricktly for publicity to our stores.

I need the following:

 1) your store link through your email link. (for the extra 50 cents) It should look something like this: (www.greetingcarduniverse.com/community/store.asp?store_id=1327&gcu=419945760 18)  To get this information:

login on GCU go to "Manage Store"
Click on "Card Widget" under COMMUNITY
Click on "Get HTML" tab
Copy "Promotional Email Link"

 2) a 1-2 simple sentence about your store

The only thing I ask, and by all means it is not necessary, is that you leave a testimonial about GCU in the guest book. We want people to feel comfortable shopping with us and if we work together to rank this lens high more people will see it, the more people see it hopefully the more people come to check us out.  In the long run it will benefit us and hey it is FREE advertising so you have nothing to loose! It would be nice to see some more bulk sales come in so why not do everything we can?

Thanks to those that have left testimonials already and thanks for pulling together to get people to notice us!

Hi Nicole!

I've emailed you my GCU link and description and I have already added my testimonial to your squidoo listing.  I hope it helps!  I can use all the advertising I can get!  Thanks for the help!

Sure Carolyn just go to www.squidoo.com and you can read all about it. A lot of us use Squidoo to write "lenses" about anything we are passionate about. (or anything connected to the type of work we sell  Wink ) It is kind of like a newspaper article or a soapbox or even an advertisment. It could be anything you want. There is a way to earn money off of it or donate the money to charity (which is what I do) For example I am working on some carousel horses in watercolor so I will write a "lens" about carousel horses and when people search for carousel horses in a search engine the lens will come up therefore attracting people who like carousel horses to my lens and hopefully my store and if I am lucky a sale! I know this is working because I have google anylatics on another site and it shows some traffic from that squidoo. I have a lens about Samhain Cards which ranks pretty high in the search engines and I list not only my cards but other artists too.

follow this link http://www.squidoo.com/PaperGreetingCards and you can see the one I am talking about for here. then let me know if you would like to be included.

Shari I got your email and will be adding you shortly. It got caught in my Spam folder but no worries! Thanks for the testimonial too!

Anyone else feel free to email me!

Hi, finally found all the other newbees, and love checking out the different shops.

Greeting cards are so much fun to design and collect in my opinion and what an inspiration when I browse through each and every shop here as I find links to them.

Nicole - I FINALLY sent you the information you needed to add me to your Squidoo Listing. I also signed your guest book tonight. Thank you so much for considering me. As Shari said, I can use ALL the help I can use right now. Don't have many in there now, but I'm working on it!
