Inside Verse - removal of generic messages
Mar 18th, 2008, 1:47pm

Recently a few shoppers were not aware that the generic inside verse on the card they purchased would actually print.  Orders were received and unhappy customers were made Sad  We have since resolved these issues to their satisfaction.

To make sure this does not happen in the future, we have removed such generic and instructional text from the inner verse field of existing cards and will not approve cards with inner verses like this in the future.

In a conservative effort to not remove valid inner verses we may have missed some.  If you use verses like these, please check your cards and make appropriate adjustments.

For example:
"add your own message here"
"create your own personal message"

Although it is important for customers to know that they can change the inside verse they should not be required to do so in order to buy your card.

If you feel it is valuable to include a message to the shopper about the ability to add their own message, personalize the card or even give them a choice of verses, please put these notes in the Artist's Note field.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding!   Smiley

That's a good change.  We like happy customers!  I am so impressed with you and Shaun and the way the Greeting Card Universe runs.  I would love to sell a few more cards on line - but I am working on being more specific with my cards.

Do you have any other ideas for me?

Thanks for all of your help.

Define "generic verse" please. I want to make sure I am understanding correctly.

Hi Alissa,

This would be something similar to: "Add your custom text here" or  "create your own personal message", etc.

On more than one occasion we've been contacted by customers who intended to purchase a blank card and did not realize the generic text would be printed on the inside of their card.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hi Sandra,
I saw your age specific flower pots coming across, cute!

I'd suggesting peeking at some of the relationship specific Mother's Day categories that are low:

Specifically, Daughter in Law, Birth Mother, Mother to be, Godmother, 1st Mother's Day.

You created some beautiful cards w/ your hydrangea in vase image.  You could do more of the same or change it up a bit.  It's one of my personal favorites  Cheesy:
