another place to network
Feb 3rd, 2008, 9:13am

a friend of mine, usually very careful where he signs up, referred me to yuwie.
it is like facebook and myspace but they pay you when people visit your page.

yes it has advertisements and that is the reason for payment. they pay you by page views, and that can be a result of adding content, blogs, photos, etc.  they also pay for referrals.  the amounts vary depending on revenue they receive from ads   they have a video you can watch that tells about it.

i just signed up and haven't done much looking around yet.  but i will see if i can add all my image sites, sales sites and so on. you can link to your own website and blogs because he had done that.  i won't do a lot with the message boards and such.
i skipped all the go to our advertiser pages by clicking the  button on the bottom, skip.  i did not sign up for any of the info from outside sources.  i know i will still get some spam but i have a great filter.
if you do decide to sign up, and don't mind, please use my referral link.  thanks

Thank you Denise!  I just signed up and you are one of my friends and I guess you get the credit for the referral Smiley  I am going to begin posting things too.  First of all will be my card widget from GCU if I can do that!  Thanks again!

i created a club for card artists here is the link
http://clubs.yuwie.com/cardartists/

you can post links to your work in your profile comments but not on the notice board.  in the clubs they don't allow you to try to sell or recruit but we can talk about making cards, how we go about designing etc.

Sad  I don't know what exactly happened but I signed up and had oodles of problems.  After I signed up and was lookng around to get a feel of things I started getting lots of Trojan alerts from my antivirus (I had only been a member for a few minutes when this all started) and of course I was deleting the Trojans....but then I started getting all kinds of stuff, mostly about now having porn somewhere in my computer etc.  I'm in the process of finishing up a complete scan  of my computer to see if anything snuck in.....I hope not.  I emailed them to see what was going on, haven't heard anything back yet.  Has anyone else had this kind of problem?  Please let me know.  Just FYI that was the only site I was on so I don't think i could have come from anywhere else.

Thanks,
Olivia

An Update-

I went thru the virus scan and deleted about 14 infections.  Everything was working fine so I decided it best to go back to the site and cancel my membership.  So I went back to the site to cancel my membership and no more got into my account (not venturing anywhere else) before I was attacked again and sadly it wouldn't let me cancel, it kept saying an error occurred.  I am not nagging, really - I just want to let you all know that there is some sort of problem coming from that site.  I'm not  a computer wiz but I do know it came from there - somewhere.  Who knows maybe I just clicked on the magic link or something I don't know.  Also I received a reply from them and it said they have no trojans so it didn't come from them......that was it, no help or apologizes etc.

i am so sorry.  i have been on there quite a bit in the past two days and have had no problems.  i will do a scan on mine as well just to be sure.  i am sorry for any problems this site has caused.  anyone the least bit worried about it don't sign on because i can't promise that they are virus free.  again i am so sorry

i keep trend micro virus scan going at all times and they have detected no viruses.  i guess unfortunately you must have been in the wrong place at the right time.  there are always people trying to get our computers out of commission.  i checked at my sons high school the morning announcement sheet  and instead of info it had this huge YOU HAVE BEEN HACKED message and the information was missing.  i let them know and they have taken it down.  all these bright people doing these things need to get together and cure illnesses and the like.  do something good with all those brains.

I really appreciate you being so kind, thank you for taking the time to write.   I am sure no one in our group knew of any problems...we wouldn't do that.  I just wanted to let you all know so everyone could be careful and not click on the wrong links....where ever they might be lol ..... I really wsh  could be a part of the fun but I'm kind of afraid to now.....knowing me I'd click on that stupid link again Smiley

Again thank you for writing and for being sympathetic to my problem.
