Fishing is a category
Jan 30th, 2008, 1:23pm

Why isn't there a catagory for "fishing?"  Or, and just as important, "any occasion?"
or "just saying 'Hello' "
but especially fishing, withthe subcategory "fishing humor" Cool

Hello,
We have done away with "any Occasion" as it's far too general.  We'd prefer to have cards with a real purpose that appeal to shoppers.  For those that stand alone in their humor or stunning artistry, then the Collections should serve them well in their topic or area of interest or as a Note Card or Blank Card.

If there is an occasion or event you think we should consider adding just let us know!

You'll find fishing here, Collections >> Sports >> Fishing

Perlyyyy! Is that you?  Good to see you here.  Your card store looks great and your designs are as sweet as I remember them!  GCU seems likea very cool place.  I got tired of the fake contests over a zazzle.  Besides, making greeting cards is easy..and kinda fun.  If you ge the time, check out my website because I got a new graphic program and did some fun things in there. Anyhow, thanks for the welcome and he kuods. ~David Cool Smiley Wink

Mindy, thank you for your response.   I have been mostly placing my images in blank cards file, and I guess that shoud be just fine.
I like everything about GCU so far. It feels very friendly and creative. Even I haven't gotten confused !
It is too bad that the images need to be in a jpeg format.  PNG wold be better quality, however, I really have no complaints.  I'll be ordering some cards from my shop soon, and I'm sure I will not be disappointed.
Thanks again ~David Cool

Hi David,
Blank cards are ok but you'll really get more mileage with giving your cards a purpose so shoppers coming to buy Happy Birthday Dad cards will find exactly what they're looking for - your card!

You could probably pick some of the male oriented occasions/relationships and have a nice little collection (Father's Day, Valentine's for Dad, Brother, Uncle, Birthday Husband, Grandpa, Nephew, etc.)

Think of clever and appropriate verses for the front and inside of your cards.  I'm not a fisher-woman but I can imagine fun phrases like... What a catch! (Wedding/Engagement Congrats), The one that got away, I'm Hooked on You (Valentine's), Swimming up Stream (Encouragement), Catch and Release (Divorce/Breakup Anno/Congrats).. as well as traditional sentiments that let your artwork speak for itself.

Card with inner verse get more exposure on the site and in email reminders too so it gives your cards an added boost to sell.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions and Welcome!
Mindy

Mindy, I love your suggestions to David!  I was thinking almost the exact same types of cards.  Because they are classics!  I love your "swimming upstream" idea!  Anyway he does the BEST FISH I have ever seen!   Cool

Mindy,
Thanks so much for you ideas.  I can sorta concieve and draw images, I can create the art, but I would have never thought of the categories that your suggestions opened up for me.
It's easy to get tunnel vision after working so many hours for so long just drawing, especially with only certain themes in mind.  I really do appreciate the input. It's opened a whole new bunch of options for me.
I thought what I needed was a promoter. Now I see I probably need an editor. LOL
Hopefully, you have not created a monster here.
Cara, you are so kind. Thank you for the Kudos!
Sincerest thanks to both of you !
~David
