Change to image requirements?
Aug 30th, 2007, 11:54pm

Hi there!

Suddenly today, we see the image requirements on the "Create a Card" page have changed from 2100x1500 to 900x1260, and the dpi has changed from 300dpi to 180 dpi. Is this a glitch?

Hi Everyone,
No need to be alarmed by the changes to the image requirements.

We had posted the minimum requirements (1260x900 pixels at 180dpi), but this lead to a bit of confusion so we made a few changes today that should make things clear.

We still recommend that your images are 2100x1500 pixels at 300dpi.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

I have a question about some images I uploaded.  My images were too large as 5x7 at best quality to upload, so I resized them to 4x6.  Will these print fine on your printer as 5x7 when they were loaded as 4x6?  In the future I will just reduce the quality and send 5x7, but I need to know if I need to reload the existing 4x6's I have loaded.  Thanks.

Hi Kathy,
Our recommendation would be to replace the 4x6 images with 5x7 images, as there's a chance that your images may print with white space along the sides.   You may need to reduce the dpi to 200 (1400x1000 pixels), to keep the image under 3.85 MB.

I've sent you an email with a few additional suggestions.

Thanks.  I only have 8 cards that were 4x6, so I will make them 5x7 tomorrow and I may order a couple to make sure that the change went smoothly.  In the future, I will always do 5x7.
