I am getting a non-acceptable image message on all photos I have tried to upload in the last few days.  I thought my camera settings may have been the problem, but I tried uploading an image that was acceptable before, and it didn't work.  Has the setting dpi requirement been changed?

Hi Kathryn,

The dpi requirement has in fact changed.  We now require a setting of at least 180dpi for all images uploaded to GCUniverse.  Our apologies for the confusion.

The uploaded image should still produce a 5x7 or 7x5 print.  For example:
2100x1500 Pixels at 300dpi
1400x1000 Pixels at 200dpi
1260x900 Pixels at 180dpi

For best results please use 300dpi

If you would like to send me a few of your images, I'd be happy to test them.  Please send the images to shaun@bigdates.com

Hello Shaun,
I already received your reply & didn't receive another email recently. Are you sure you're not wanting to reply to my question concerning European representation?
Regards,
Phyllis

Hi Sarah,
Welcome to the Forum  Cheesy

It looks as though the image that you've uploaded is 1500x2100 pixels at 72dpi.  The minimum requirement on our site is 180dpi.  Is it possible to for you to create this image with a higher dpi setting?

At 1500x2100 pixels your image should be 300dpi in order to create a 5x7inch print.

if you are downloading from GCU you will be getting only the web version of your card which will be very low resolution, What matters is the ppi that you are "Creating" your art work. so when you open a file in your graphic program - choose the siza 7x5 and 300 ppi. when it is finished - save it as a jpeg but don't alter the resolution.

Hope I have explained adequately - if not just ask again - that's what we're here for  Grin

Thanks Grin My hubby helped me understand it better too and I've redone the drawings with the 300 dpi with either 1500 x 2100 or 2100 x 1500, though some are off by 2 to 5 in single numbers a.k.a. 1503 or 2102 and I still got them uploaded in this time, yeah Grin Grin Grin Wink. Question is now, how soon will I know if I loaded the drawings into the right categories and how soon will I know when I sell cardsHuh. Does it take days, weeks, months, and how often does one load cards on this site? I mean can we load every day or once a week or a few times a month? do I wait and see first how the ones I've loaded now will do before adding others or just go as meny as I can muster at a pop? I don't want to over load, over kill, etc...   undecided  Roll Eyes Smiley.

Sometimes dh's ARE helpful Wink

Not sure what you mean by "right" its up to you to decide where to put your card - even more important are the keywords so that people can find the cards that they are looking for. havea look at other people's keywords to see the possibilities. I think these are also important for the search engines, so don't skimp!!

and how soon will I know when I sell cardsHuh.

You will know virtually immediately if you sell a card
go to MANAGE STORE, choose REPORTS AND ANALYSIS, select STORE REPORT, select CARDS SOLD then congratulate yourself on all those sales Tongue

how often does one load cards on this site? Load lots and load often - the more quality cards you have in your store the more the customer has to choose from.

There has been some talk of limiting the number of cards in each store but as yet no decision has been made other than no more than 3 of the same design...
Good luck!

GrinThanks! Grin I just got home this evening and was checking my E-Mails and all the drawings I loaded up got approved Grin Wink  Grin! I got a request in and I think it was sent to 40 or so others too. The song on the inside of the card, I don't know if you can do that. Can it be done? He asks for a Hank Snow song called"I'm Movin' On". I can draw the card, yes, music on the inside? I sent back a message saying I can do the drawing part and ask if he would still want it done or not and how soon it has to be done. Did I say the right thing? I think so. Let me know Huh. Smiley

Hi, Patricia!

All card requests are posted on the public forum, and all artists now receive notification when a new post has been made on the forum (to encourage participation). So the request did not go specifically to you or anyone else. It's your choice whether or not to create a card at a customer's request.

As for the song... be aware that song lyrics are under copyright, which you don't want to violate.
