PhotoShop saving tip - do NOT save for Web
Mar 12th, 2007, 12:01pm

Hello,
A common error resulting in images too low in resolution Shocked

When using PhotoShop do NOT use the "Save image for Web" feature when exporting to jpg.  It lowers the dpi to 72.  Instead use "Save-As" and save as a jpg with a quality rating of 10 or higher.

Hi there,

When making designs for printing I always save my images at 300 dpi quality rating 12. Don't settle for less if you want a good result.

*sigh* yeah....I saw this yesterday. Not good Sad

The only way to stop spammers from entering the forum and posting their smut is to disable posting for guests. And you have to do this for all sections, because they will just go on. I don't know any forums where they let guests post and now I guess you see why.

Actually, the majority (if not all) of the topics in the forum are geared towards the artists anyways (i.e. image guidelines, sales, goals, etc...).  So I personally don't see any big deal in making the forum for artists only.  And the public does have an opportunity to communicate to GCU through "testimonials" and "contact us".  GCU could always create a page (like you don't have enough to do already) of these messages from the public for the public and the artists that went through a screening process...or just skip it.  Hopefully they are here to buy and not to chat.  And sometimes I think the public really shouldn't be reading what we are talking to each other about anyhow....such as sales.  It a bit like broadcasting a business meeting.  Example...if I have a complaint about something and list it on the forum...I really don't think that the public should be reading it...it should be private.  But whatever....really.  These are just thoughts.  The porn post are a bit annoying, but I don't have kids that can read so it's not really an issue for me.  However, I'm sure that buyers who might be shopping with their kids most likely aren't thrilled to see them either.  I know this really isn't the propper thread (image guidelines & tips) to be discussing this but...

We have disabled guests from posting on all topics.  Sorry for the objectionable and inconvenient postings.

There's nothing worse than unexpected and rude guests  Angry
