Memorial Day … Did You Know?

In the United States, Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday in May. The official national holiday honors the men and women who have died while serving  in the Armed Forces. It’s also an opportunity to thank military personnel for their service to their country and acknowledge the sacrifices they’ve made. Here are some interesting facts about Memorial Day: The holiday was originally called Decoration Day and began to be observed in 1868,  just after the Civil War.
