The Ethiopian holiday of Enkutatash is celebrated in September every year and is a celebration of their New Year. It is a time of year when their countrysides are filled with the blooming Meskel flowers, that create carpets of yellow cover over the land. During the holiday young girls pick bouquets of these richly colored yellow flowers to celebrate a centuries old holiday. This lovely card features the background colors of green, yellow and red, the traditional colors of the holiday, in horizontal stripes across the card, the same colors that stripe the Ethiopian flag. At the center of the card is a bouquet of three bright yellow Meskel flowers, above the hand lettered wording "Happy Enkutatash". The card's inside wording is "Wishing you a prosperous and joyous New Year."
