About Me: Welcome to my new online store. I'm just getting it started, and expect to have a large collection of cards for you soon. Through my art, I hope to warm your heart and touch your soul.
A touch of emotion and the spirit of love flow through all of my art, communicating unspoken, soul-felt words. My passion to reach and touch the soul is apparent in the intensity that is reflected in the eyes of my spirits and animals. The eyes are the windows to the soul.
Love, compassion, pride, despair, anger, fear, introspection, understanding, intimacy, passion and freedom - all are explored in my creations, with the intent to evoke a unique response from every individual who casts eyes on my work.
Love is the basic ingredient; do all things with love and your creation will be of the purest form. There is a magnificent feeling of fulfillment when seemingly from nothing appears onto canvas an image from the soul.
My Interests: Raised by my grandparents in Merseyside, England, my mother was English and my father was Native American Sioux. As an artist, I've followed my Native American Ancestral beliefs, portraying American Indians not as victims, but as passionate, proud and strong. Romancing a freedom of their soul that lives through us all, I endeavor to awaken an undaunted Spirit and allow it to emerge.
I've studied at the Laird School of Art, Wallasey Art College, and Liverpool Polytechnic, and have shown my art in and around the United States and Europe, including the prestigious Liverpool Art Gallery.
Since the mid-1990ís, I've lived in Sedona, Arizona, where many artists are concentrated because of the energy that is so conducive to creativity. My style changed dramatically here, from stoic to free, inspired by a spiritual message: "Do what you love, with only love in mind, and people who see it will want to be part it." This simple truth has defined the character of my art ever since.
Most of my art is spiritually inspired and spontaneous in creative and evolutionary direction, with music for inspiration. Much of the time, it's Native American or New Age meditation, but once in a while, U2 and loud rock & roll!
But whatever the motivation or creative catalyst may be, an image, a message, and part of my own identity always flow onto the canvas from my heart and spirit; sometimes effortlessly, sometimes with great concentration, emotion, and maybe even a few tears... but always with sincerity, free expression, and boundless enthusiasm!
My unique style has been described as "ethereal", but I describe it as being "Emotion and Motion"... movement is very evident in my work to depict passionate life. It's also been said that I portray sensuality through my work, to which I can olny respond, "We are sentient beings. While many people believe that sensuality and spirituality cannot co-exist, I believe they are one in the same. Passion is more than just a feeling; it is who we are!"
Welcome to Silk Spirit Inspirations. I'm excited and grateful to have this opportunity to share my art, my visions, and my innermost feelings with you. I hope you find something here that makes you smile at every level of your being, and that you'll share it with someone special...
