As I prepare to be a wife,
I can't help but look back a little too--
and when I do,
I see you--
holding my hand on the first day of school,
encouraging me in middle school,
taking my picture on prom night,
saying goodbye with encouraging words when I left home;
and now standing by my side
helping prepare for my wedding.
Mom, you have always been someone
I could count on,
talk to and trust.
Thank you for being the kind of mom
that so many women wish they had.
