About Me: A photographer since 1960, I studied photojournalism at the University of Miami. While there I was influenced by Wilson Hicks, Picture Editor of Life Magazine. After serving in the Army as a photographer, I returned to McMinnville and worked as a technical photographer at AEDC. In addition,I have won numerous Sate and Regional awards, edited Warren County Tennessee: Pictorial History, and have had numerous photographs published on the cover of Spoon River Poetry Review. I have also been published in Photographer"s Forum: Best of Photography. I find inspiration in everyday life in a small town, pushing the frontiers of both photography and digital art. I consistently place in state, regional, and national contests.
My Interests: My family has had a professional photographer in it since 1890. One of my projects and interests is in preserving the family photographic archive of 33,000+ large format negatives and glass plates. I am working with the Tennessee State Archives, University of Tennessee and others in the creation of a online archive of Tennessee History at www.volunteervoices.org
