Card Sellers FAQ



1.  Does it cost anything to sell your cards?
No. There are not costs at all.

2.  Is it easy to set up my widget?
Yes, it only takes a few minutes. Just register, pick the cards you want to sell, and display your widget on your site.

3.  How much money will I earn?
You will earn $0.50 for each card that your shoppers buy, with a maximum of $25 per order. You will continue to earn for future purchases made by that shopper for the following 30 days, unless their cookie get erased or is over written by another card seller's cookie.

4.  Which cards do I get paid for?
You will earn commissions on any cards your shoppers buy. It's not limited to the cards featured on your widget. So once they've arrived on GCUniverse via your card widget, you'll get credit for every GCUniverse card they purchase.

5.  How do you track my earnings?
When a shopper clicks on your widget a cookie with your seller id is created. You will earn commissions for any cards they buy during 30 days of the cookie being created. The cookie is recognized when they return to shop via your widget as well as directly to our site as long as they use the same browser as when the cookie was first created. Note, a cookie can be replaced by clicking on another card seller's widget and cookies can also be cleared or erased by the user.

6.  What if I make changes to my widget?
No problem, you can change the colors or featured cards as often as you like. You do NOT need to re copy/paste the HTML.

7.  How will I get paid?
Payments will be made thirty (30) days after the end of each calendar quarter if the amount owed exceeds twenty-five dollars ($25). You can increase your minimum payment amount. We can pay you by check or PayPal . There are no additional postal or service fees.

8.  How do I know what I've sold?
You can use the Commissions Report link on your Card Widget configuration page. The report is updated once per 24 hour period.

9.  Where do the card shoppers come from?
They come from your website or blog. Be sure to consider their interests and needs when choosing which cards your widget will feature. Also Card Widgets placed above the fold (top of the page) get better results.

10.  Who charges the buyer?
We handle all of the ecommerce transaction. Buyers will see "BigDates.com" on their charge statement.

11.  Do I have to inventory anything?
No, we handle all of the order fulfillment. All you have to do is post your widget and watch the cards sell.

12.  How else can I promote my widget?
The more exposure you give your widget the better results you will get. A great way is to let your members know via email that you now sell cards. Be sure to point them to your widget.

13.  Can I post my widget in more than one place?
Yes, you can by using the same HTML code. Note, all of your posted widgets will be identical. Sellers can only have one widget per account. If you'd like to create a different widget (i.e.: one featuring cats and one featuring dogs) you'll need to create a second account using a different email address.

14.  What kind of cards are these?
These are real paper greeting cards, just like the ones you purchase at your local stores. Cards are folded and based on orientation are 5 inches by 7 inches (portrait) or 7 inches by 5 inches (landscape). Cards are printed on 100 pound cover stock that is similar in quality to cards you would find in a local card store and envelope stock is 80 lbs, Classic Crest.

15.  Can I stop selling whenever I want?
Yes, no problem. You can stop at any time, simply remove your widget from any pages and postings.
