Customized cards question
Aug 26th, 2020, 8:16pm

I am wondering where to find my private gallery.  Can't seem to find anywhere to access it.

Thanks,

Molly

I waived reviews for a customer and put them in my private gallery (which I have never done before).  But I don't see it when on my storefront even while logging in.  I searched the wiki and didn't see anything.

Hi Molly,

It's on the left side of your storefront toward the bottom.

Here's the link to your private gallery:

I'm not sure why the link broke off in my last post.  Try this.

OK, just copy the entire link and paste it in your browser.  Not sure what the deal is with the entire link not working.

Thank you for replying! I appreciate your help. Smiley

I think what was going on is that I had just submitted the cards right before posting my question here so they had not shown up yet.  It was showing on my store about 5 minutes later.  It probably won't show unless you have cards in it.

But now I have another dumb question! If I send the links to the cards to the customer, will she not be able to see them?  My only purpose for doing this was so she could immediately buy the cards (she has others in her cart and wants the free shipping) but now I'm wondering  if the private gallery is just for us as sellers?  Can only the owner of the private gallery see the cards even if we send a direct link?  This customer is not able to see the cards. First she said the links were not clickable.  It was because she was on her phone.  Then on her laptop she clicked on them and got a GCU error message.  Is this because only I should be able to see them?  I don't know what to tell her.

I will no longer be doing customized cards. I said "yes" to her request to be nice thinking it was no big deal. I have not been working on here consistently since about 2011 and had forgotten how long the review process seems to take and I had also forgotten that I enabled custom requests but when I went back to look at my requirements one was that it had to be a minimum of 25 cards.  I have been going back and forth with this woman for two days over two cards which will bring me maybe 25 cents each.  It would be funny if it wasn't so annoying.

Hi Molly -

First of all, card changes requested by customers are considered okay to Fast Track, so that speeds the review process up greatly.

Secondly, your private gallery is accessible to any customer who clicks on the link to it on your storefront - and/or - for any card within that gallery if you give the customer the card link.

The link you provide the customer MUST BE the one from your store front view NOT MANAGE CARDS area, so that may have been the trouble?  You as the artist must go to your storefront, click on your Private Gallery, click on the customer's card and get the link that way, then pass that link on to the customer.

When you first posted the original message (Sharon came to your rescue so I didn't respond at the time), I was able to click on your Private Gallery and bring up the card: https://artist.greetingcarduniverse.com/holiday-cards/christmas-cards/merry-chri
stmas-angie-1641250?aid=180234

So either the customer had issues on her end or the link you provided to her may have been from your manage cards area rather than through your storefront route.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for clarifying! I think it is something on the customer's end then. I think I did it correctly - went to my private gallery from my shop and "added to cart" then after going through the "next" steps I saw the link to share the card.  This is how it says to do it for the ones that are in our public galleries so I assume it is the same way.

Thank you again to all who helped me!  I really appreciate it. I guess I will resend the links to her and if she still can't open the cards she will need to contact GCU help.

I thought I had figured it out. This is getting increasingly frustrating.  I sent her the links again and decided to try them myself.  The link does not take me to the individual card, it takes me to my cart.  Is this right? I hope for her it takes her to the card.

You DO NOT need to, or should you, put it in your cart. That is for the rare occasion where we artists agree to add inside photos, etc. to the areas which are normally only accessed by the customer.

The link you should give her is as I stated (NO CART)

1- Go to your storefront: https://artist.greetingcarduniverse.com/mollyscardstore

2- Click on your Private Gallery link: https://artist.greetingcarduniverse.com/community/store.asp?private=true&sto re_i
d=5720

3- Click on the $ <dollar sign> below the card's thumbnail and copy the Text Link

4- Give that link to your customer.

I guess I  misunderstood what was written in the "share link for custom card feature" in the Artist FAQ under Creating Custom Cards. Thank you for clarifying. I do see what you mean after re-reading it.
