HOPPY HOLIDAYS Everyone - Thank You GCU

I am so grateful to receive Design of the Day today - thank you GCU! This is the Card http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/holiday-cards/christmas-cards/animals-pets/r abbits-rodents/christmas-card-hoppy-holidays-1503232?gcu=47771017551

We moved house relatively recently and we became aware of a bunny locally who was unwanted and not being very well cared for, so when the opportunity arose we offered to adopt her, and they said yes. Hence we welcomed the beautiful Caramel (now aka Princess Caramel Bunny Kinnear) into our home and hearts. And she was my inspiration to design a bunny Christmas card.

She is an absolute angel, very sweet, and oh my goodness so soft! We adore her and even though she is an elderly lady, about 10 years old, and has lived outside all her life, we decided to bring her indoors, and she has taken to being a pampered indoor bunny very well indeed Grin

We’ve been back and forth to the vets with her to get some issues sorted out, so I did a card for our lovely vet just to say thanks, that Card (private gallery only) has a photo of Caramel on in case anyone would like to see her it’s here: https://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/vet-thank-you-card-1504510/

I know, it’s quite a shallow depth of focus image but it was a difficult photo to take as the light was low and I was feeding her dandelions and trying to take the photo at the same time, and in no uncertain terms Caramel was ONLY interested in the dandelions, smiling for the camera just didn’t come into it! Grin

Judith, we’ve never had bunnies before and I've been having to learn fast, and I’ve still got sooooo much to learn.

Ideally I wanted to bond Caramel with another bunny. A neutered elderly male - she’s spayed. But sadly my vet has advised against it, partly because of Caramel’s age but also because she’s now been found to have an enlarged heart, at one point her heart rate dropped from the 230 beats per minute it’s supposed to be, to 80 beats per minute. It was all very scary and we honestly thought we might lose her Sad

But she got through. She’s on meds three times a day and is supposed to have as stress free and as calm a life as possible, so that kind of rules out trying to introduce her to another bunny. So she has to make do with me and I’m sure I come a very poor second to another bunny Roll Eyes
