Thanks Miles.
My site is here at www.thecard-deck.com
Took little or no "tech" skills to get it up and running, I had no web experience before, and just put the hours in with Joomla, you get well rewarded if you can be patient!
and if anyone reading this wants to knnow more about joomla they can take a look here:
www.joomla.org/
To be honest the hardest part really seems to be something you would know alot about, namely marketing the site correctly, getting the fresh and interesting content in there!

To show how "tech saavy" I'm not I can't even figure out where to add a signature on this forum!? embarrassed

PUBLISH CONTENT
Publishing content on the internet is simple and free!  If you do not already have your own blog or website there are a number of services you can use, and the real key is to find one that you are comfortable working with.  Pages created with services like these can receive significant amounts of traffic and can reach the #1 spot on all of the major search engines!

Below is a list of free services anyone can use to build a website or blog…
http://www.Squidoo.com
http://www.weebly.com
http://www.webs.com/
http://sites.google.com
http://www.livejournal.com
http://www.webstarts.com/
http://www.vox.com
http://www.jimdo.com
http://www.posterous.com
http://www.wetpaint.com
http://www.wikidot.com
http://www.yola.com/
http://www.blog.com/
http://www.blogdrive.com
http://www.webnode.com
http://www.gather.com/
http://www.blinkweb.com
http://www.tumblr.com
http://www.wordpress.com/
http://www.blogger.com
http://www.typepad.com/

Each service is a bit different but they all accomplish the same basic thing;  publishing your content for free.  So browse around and find the ones that you feel comfortable with.  After that it’s just a matter of jumping in and learning!

INCLUDE YOUR Sell This Card LINKS
The last step in the process is to anchor your text links inside your content.  The best way to do this is to take your keyword phrase from inside of your article and make the keyword phrase a clickable link.  This is done with the use of a simple html tag…
<a href=”http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/theSellThisCardlinkgoeshere”>Keyword Phrase</a>

If you are inserting the Image Link, all of the code is already provided for you, so simply paste that code where you want the image to be in your content and the image will be a clickable link to that specific card on the GCU site.
Once you publish your content with your anchored links and image links you are done.  Congratulations, you have just created a page that will work for you while you sleep!  You can now link to this new page from your Facebook or Twitter account, your blog if you have one, or you can simply move on to another keyword phrase and start the whole process over.  Over the next couple of months the search engine spiders will find your new content, index your page and start serving it as relevant results to searches.

Thank so much for these two outstanding entries, Miles

Hello all:

I figured to try the 'Sell this Card' idea - so I do have a blog which I have been neglecting since Dec 09 but have resolved to relaunch by next week.  The site I use was listed: www.blogger.com

I posted a Father's Day spot and listed a few cards - one of my own - and 4 others - the blog's target audience is the GLBT community so hopefully you're OK with that - if not - maybe it will open your eyes - consider it fair warning  Grin - here's the link - any feedback would be appreciated - thanks!

Google has updated their keyword research tool and moved it to http://www.google.com/sktool and I updated the post.

The other page has been removed from the post all together.  Thank you for this notification and sorry it took me this long to update.

Since you've read the update to hear... I am very happy to also update that many people are receiving larger checks thanks to their efforts working the Sell This Card feature!

OK, here's a dumb question: What IS the "sell this card link"? Next year I want to affiliate-sell every card in the Universe along with my own, so fess up! I can't seem to find the actual...link thing.

I'm so glad this page came in my yahoo today.  Thanks Miles in August, I had'nt pulled up this page since I had posted in May and the links didn't work so I never bothered again.  A BIG thanks to 'Li',  Margaret your question was not dumb!, and I'm so glad you asked it.  I've been here three years and didn't know where to find the link.  Li answered the question and Li thanks for the link to the wiki, maybe I will start learning how to sell this stuff and not just create it :-D.

This posting is fantastic!  Thanks for the step-by-step.  I'll be sure to use this 'sell this card' feature in all my future postings on bloger--as well as use the relavent keywords as you recommended.  Yeah for this insight!  Smiley
