Help with text in photoshop
Nov 7th, 2009, 12:43am

I've had one of my cards returned to edit the text on the front. (see below)

Based on our review process, your card has been Returned for Edits. Please resubmit your card after correcting the following issues:

Please Note: Please change Im TO I'm on your card front.

No matter how hard I try, I can't get the apostrophe to come before the m when using Photoshop. Even writing the text in 'Word', then cutting and pasting doesn't work.  embarrassed

Eve check the font you are using. Not all fonts have the same characters (though why one should not have an apostrophe is beyond me). Try using a different font and see if there is any difference.

Hi,Eve
I assume you are trying to change text in JPG format - it can not be done! Format JPG has just one layer!
You can change text or modify it in Photoshop format PSD - it has more layers. You must work with diferent layers - one for text, one for picture and so on.
I hope this information hepls you!

Hi,Eve
I accidentally sent the same message twice!

Just suggestion - You can put I am instead I'm and have no problems with the apostrophe!

I obviously haven't explained myself very well. But thank you for trying to help me. I'll start again.. embarrassed

I'm aware that I can't change the text on the card already submitted, I'm starting from the beginning again.

When I write the word I'm, the apostrophe will not stay between the "I" and the "m". It jumps to the end and looks like this Im'.

I hope that is explained better.
Eve

Now that is an idea I hadn't thought of and I will use that if I can't get help with the I'm.

I have two cards I want to use "I'm" on
I'm Here To Make You Smile
and
I'm Coming Home.
'I am' feels a little bit stilted.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....Seems strange.  I use photoshop and haven't run into (thankfully) this glitch.  Why not just dele the layer entirely and start over?

I am starting afresh and no matter what I do the apostrophe doesn't end up where I want it.  cry

Gee,,,Eve, what a puzzelment....at this point I think I would just create my own apostrophy using the freeform pen tool...hope this glitch isn't catchy...don't think there is a vaccine available for it...lol.

Hiho Smiley

And it's actually going to the end of the m even when you type it out to go before it? And as Marion suggested try some various fonts? I have never seen a glitch like this either, unless you lag drag on the screen where it takes an age to do something due to sucking as much ram as photoshop can get.

I would do the same and start fresh layer and use a different font, or do a space and manually add it myself like I have to do for Welsh accents, not ideal but it would work even doing a sepparate layer with the ' and slotting it in the alloted space, hope you find an answer

Huge hugs
Moonie

I didn't even know I had one of those. I just had a fiddle with it, but I think I need to learn how to use that tool properly.  Cheesy

What font are you using? Does this happen with ALL fonts? I have never heard of this, it has intrigued me!

Try this, EditTonguereferences:general, turn off smart quotes. It is the only thing I can think of that may affect this. I am scratching my head here!!!
