Thought it would be fun to jump on the "Comical Caption's Logo" bandwagon, so here is my offering. Hope I do this right....

Well going out on a limb here, Neva, how's this for an idea to work from?

Tom..... I have to hand it to you for looking at all those BOC logos..... Whew!!
I know mine could be a bit more clever, but I'm hoping I can keep it for awhile (got my hands full). I, too, started with my photo, but didn't like it showing on the backs of cards. I do wish we could have our photos in the artists forum and a different logo for the BOC. I like to see who's saying what. (makes me think everyone is my friend... hee hee).
For your logo, Tom, your photos are so funny, I would think you could find one silly part of one, square it up, maybe add "Comical Captions". but the photos you use for your cards are great. In my opinion, I like to see more than words for a logo.
just my two cents.
Thanks for everyones input and work!

Thanks ladies. Pam, I sent you an email. And I thought you said you were busy!
Yes, I think I need to really think about the logo and what it takes to make it sizzle. What Pam did to Neva's is a nice professional approach. Tiled flower - Brilliant!
I'm not in any hurry on mine. My grayman photo will be ok for the time being. I have some ideas on my "upgrade" that I am exploring.
Good luck everyone!

Oh, I was out and about, now I am back!
Anyway, just want to clarify that lovely tiled flower is all Neva's, not mine, it's featured on some of her cards. I 'borrowed' it for the example because I loved the effect too and the colors.
Neva, have fun and look forward to seeing a Neva Spell logo soon
.

This topic caused me to scurry over to Google to find websites that will help me to understand how I can use Photoshop to make my own logo. I hadn't got logos on my priority list of things to do, but I have now.

Hi Tom,
You know I was one of the supporters of exactly what you are suggesting, so I made a Logo for you to add to your choices, you may keep it or I can modify a bit if you have suggestions to make it more 'you'. You may also toss it out and say YUCK
So how do I post the jpg on the forum?

Hi Doreen,
I added mine by uploading to Tinypic.com (like we did for the card) and then copying and pasting the
IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards on here.

Denise,
If you do use this, I think it's very professional and visually pleasing. Nice. Simple, memorable!

Doreen - the idea that I am working on is very similar. Really cool one. Thanks. It shows folks what's possible. You artists are so very talented!! I can do words and some framing, but true art - forgetaboutit!
Denise - THAT is pretty cool. My only comment is I thought it said "d l" rather than "d b."

A suggestion that may help artists struggling to create a logo:
Imagine your logo as a letterhead on a sheet of paper (or actually print it out as a letterhead, if that helps). How does it look? If you received a message on paper bearing your logo, would you think it came from a professional business? What does your logo say about you?
Now's the time to think like a customer, and try to look at your logo with an objective eye. It won't hurt to get opinions from other people, either. And just a reminder: if you do get constructive criticism, don't take it to heart. Someone giving you that kind of criticism isn't trying to hurt you, they're trying to help.

thank you candace and tom. tom if the l in visual wasn't there i could see where that would be a problem, hopefully it shows up as an b because of that... anyone else see the b or do you think l?
doreen could you try that same design without the background? i get dizzy easy and it makes my head spin..hehee but on a serious note i am afraid in the small size it will end up being, the busy back ground will cause the face to be lost. good design if it could stay larger.
