The thread for all found misplaced cards!!!

Easter in the April Fool's Day section? Chocolate and biscotti in Passover?
We all have them, we all find them. Cards in the most bizzarre categories. Well, here's a thread to post our findings...if nothing else, it will make us feel better. If you find one of mine in a zany place, please let me know!!!

(This is not for nitpicky stuff. This is just for cards that are really, really in the wrong spot.)

Thank you Angela, I found one of my own cards in an out of the way spot. I won't be surprised to find that it is my own fault. . .I typed "Dinosaurs" into the search engine to find one one my cards with dinosaurs on it. On the first page of the results were lots of artist's dinosaur cards and one of my cards that is a picture of a Native teepee village in the early morning, designed as a "Get Well" card for my brother.

So, I have "Dinosaur" cards. . .but there are un-dinosaur card mixed in with the lot. I am not blaming anyone and I take the responsibility for this piticular card showing up in the search. I just don't know what to do. Perhaps I should have a 3rd store that would have the un-dinosaur cards. Any feedback would be appreciated. I have had complaints from some of the un-dinosaur cards that the dinosaurs are always eyeballing them. . .dinosaurs. undecided

Angela has pointed out the correct reason why your un-dinosaur cards appear in a search for "dinosaur". It is your artist name "2dinosaurs" which is taken into account for search results.

Cards in incorrect categories is a different issue than erroneous cards appearing in search results. However both can be reported.

We can try reporting here for now to see how it works. Our staff can look into the reports and make necessary fixes. If effective then perhaps we create a more prominent board topic.

Please be specific when reporting including the product id# as well as page URL or page number on specific category page.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes ...

#1. St. Patrick's Day Son-in-Law pid=383387 ... somehow ended up in Sister-in-Law category.
St. Patrick's Day Father-in-Law pid=383383 ... not sure where it ended up, but not in Father's-in-Law.

I may have hit a wrong button on the profile page (it was the middle of the night, sorry!). I'd be so grateful if you could put these on the list to fix. No hurry, we've got 10 months to go before it matters again, lol! Thanks for the help!

#2. ... just browsing the Graduation Announcements category -- OMG! -- we've got lots of "Congratulations" cards mixed in here. Don't think we had the appropriate categories when some of them were added, so it's no one's fault ... but since we only have 106 in the category at present, any chance we could get some "weeding" done in the Grad Announcements? Just thought it might be easier to do now before the category gets more and more cards in the next few weeks ... and it makes sense because Graduations begin in May -- less than a month away -- so I'm sure shoppers are already starting to browse for Announcements and Congrats. I'm just getting ready to add some, so I thought I'd mention it. C'mon gang ... let's get some new Grad cards going!

Hi Mindy,
When I searched "Columbus" (for Columbus Day), 32 cards came up, 7 of which had nothing to do with Columbus Day. And the majority of them were Easter cards-- 3 of which were mine. Imagine that... what are the odds!
Anyways they are numbers: 74310, 345419, 145721, 40761, 337930, 261362, 395149.

as I added a new christmas card to the category christmas - non english - dutch, I noticed that all my previous dutch christmas cards from last year are not in that category - they are still in the (old) category non-english - other (that was before the dutch category was added). Please move to christmas-non-english-dutch.

And while I'm thinking of it, would it be possible to get a special resubmit button, so if we do find that we have a card in the wrong category, we could click a button and request that it be transferred? (Sorry if this has already been mentioned.)

Was looking at the recent email for Christmas and Hannukah cards, when I clicked on the Hannukah link it took me to the page of cards, but there was this card there, that although it's a lovely holiday card, it doesn't have anything to do with Judaism! Not in the keywords either, so how it got there is anyone's guess! Grin

I was going through some of my winter time cards to feature and found a mistake on 155238. It's a woodpecker in the wintertime and somehow is in cats and fall/autumn. I have no clue how it got put in 2 wrong categories but oh well, it is. Could you please fix it for me? Thanks so much.

I was going through some of my winter time cards to feature and found a mistake on 155238. It's a woodpecker in the wintertime and somehow is in cats and fall/autumn. I have no clue how it got put in 2 wrong categories but oh well, it is. Could you please fix it for me? Thanks so much.

507267 says Happy Anniversary in the inside text, either remove it or modify it to be more Veterans Day oriented.

We've also added Veterans Day to your keywords, consider adding this to your card titles as well for better search results.

I searched for Teacher, and I looked thru the first 25 pages, but I didn't find the card above yet.

But, I did find these four cards...page 9, 308548 wife birthday, page 19, 377743, page 23, 522626 and page 22, 149074.

If you go to 12 step progaam, there are so many cards that have nothing on them about 12 step, I just don't have the time to get them all for you on the first two pages alone.

Aha, results for search can be more far reaching as search takes into account card category, keywords, title, verse, artist name, etc.

Mystery solved on these cards you've reported:
308548 - ? can't id this card ?
377743 - teacher used in the inside verse
522626 - happy new year teacher card
149074 - skating card -we've removed "teacher" from keywords

We'll have someone do some weeding in the 12 Step Recovery cards.

I have found a category that I think needs some clarification both for artists and the reviewers.

I recently sent in some St Patrick's Day cards and they were categorized in the Holidays>St Patrick's Day

but removed from the category Collections>Non-English-Other languages>Irish Huh

which does make sense since my cards are in the English language.
However, if you look at the category, as far as I can tell all the cards are in english and show a collection of Irish themed/patriotic cards including the St Patrick's Day cards.
That is why I included mine in there too since my research showed that this is the other place the St Patrick's cards are to be found.

I sent an email to the reviewers to ask if mine could go in there until this is sorted out.
My cards are 550852,550869 and 550824. Can they be included?

This is unavoidable as "tartan" is a valid keyword for an image with tartan in it. And "day" is a very common term (ie: "have a great day") so you are correct, unfortunately, a keyword search for tartan and day produces a mixed bag:

Sorry for the delay... I see your 3 cards have been approved and IMHO in categories that will better serve them than in the Collections >> Non-English >> Irish.

The other issue has to do with needed clarification and clean up of the Collections >> Non-English / Other Languages >> Irish category itself. These language subcategories are reserved for cards that are NOT in English.

I'm certainly not a linguist expert but here's a reference of history of the Irish language:

Lots of evolution here (primative, old, early, classic, etc). It is of these "older" non-english sounding (for lack of a better description), the Gaelic spirited form of the language that should be put in the Non-English/Other Language categories.

Images that simply have to do with Ireland should go in:
Collections >> Places & Cities > Ireland

Could my card #232900 please be moved to Birthday >> Sports Specific >> Snow skiing/Boarding please. It's somehow landed in the Ice skating sub-category when the Sports Specific cards were sub-categorized.

Also could you please look at blank card #90532? It is currently residing in the Birthday category. It's a lovely card but it has absolutely nothing to do with Birthdays.

I was just browsing Confirmation cards and found a ton of cards that are not Confirmation.
Remember Whisper's calendar in a pocket card? He has one for every day of the year? Well, they're all there, in Confirmation... pages and pages of them. Hope you don't need the ID numbers for all. lips sealed

I have a question and/or comment I guess. In the Announcements>>Retirement category, why are there so many congratulations on your retirement cards? There is a separate category for that. I'm trying to put my new card in the correct spot and it seems to me that congratulations on your retirement should go here:

#63507 - Birthday Mare and Foal - is in Congratulations on becoming and eagle scout category.

This is not my card but one I saw when checking out cards in the eagle scout. I am assuming you would like to be notified when we see one of these incorrect category cards so they can be moved. If you don't want us to report on these found cards, please let us know so we don't waste our time.

? okay thanks Kati for finding one of my cards misplaced. I can assure everyone there is no way I placed it in the "Eagle Scout" category as I don`t even have any cards for this, I don`t even know what it is!
Thanks to the reviewer who informed me of this move as I would never have located this card having never any need to visit the eagle scout category.

Are you talking about them residing in the wrong category or resulting in a search for "confirmation"?

Looks like with the inside verse containing "confirm" this is related at least as far as keywords go.

This is a combined result of the related keywords "civil way" and "union" which are both appropriate for this series of cards.

They show up late in the search results based on relevancy ... so pages 9, 10 and later for example out of 12 pages of results.

First I want to thank the review person for adding this design to collections/sports/general. It does help. But I did try to reply to your email and I'm guessing that never got to you, so am posting the question here in hope that you or someone could answer my question.

Could you tell me what I would need to change on this fishing father's day card to make it appropriate for this category?

Is it my inside text that disqualifies it from going Fin Fathers Day/Sports? Many of the fishing themes in there have Happy Father's Day on the card front, so I'm guessing it isn't the text on my card front that is the problem. Plus this version only say Happy Father's Day on card front.

Here are two cards from that section that show what I mean. This card has sports image on the front 61520 and mentions dad in text inside. This second, also from that section has sport image on front to (the trophy even says Dad), and mentions Dad on inside text.

If I could figure what needs changing I would do a version specific for this sub category.

Could you move card number 404498 to Father's Day from Son? It's now in the general category. Also, could you also add it to Collections -- Vintage The title is garbled. Is theres some way to fix that.
It's supposed to read "Straight Edge Razor Happy Father's Day From Son" but the title in the thumbnail is garbled. Thanks!!!!

Need to have cards moved to correct category!

I have a large number (215) of Invitations in the Birthday Party Age Specific Other.

The category now has the birthday for each year.

It was my understanding that these cards would be moved to the correct age,
but I could not find the forum note stating the update.

Is it possible to move them now?

Exactly, any relationship specific cards go in the relationship specific category only, no others (with the exception of any subcategory in the Collections).

You know, this thread IS impossible to find, especially when you are working on uploading cards and find one in the wrong spot.

Can we please get rid of that old Profiling section that doesn't get used anymore and have that be the place where we go to request cards get moved and category changes. It would make like for us hard working artists easier Grin

Agreed...we'll see what can be done. The forum tool is not very flexible. Worst case we delete this tread (or redirect) and start from scratch since once a request is fulfilled there really isn't a need to look back.

This is not an incorrect category issue so nothing to be moved but a matter of search terms. Your inside verse has "day" and "independent". So although not a precise match not totally out of left field either.

Hi Mindy,
Wanted to do a check and typed in "german christmas" in the search bar on the gcu home page.
Got 4 pages of the same card. A dog on a red background, for categories like "merry christmas from Arizona" or "merry christmas to my boss". The cards have nothing to do with "german" as a language . It's because of the keywords :"german shorthaired pointer, german pointer" that all these cards turn up when i search "german" christmas cards.
A customer wanting a german language card will not feel like wading through 4 pages of non-german cards till he/she finally stumbles onto one. Nothing against the cards, but it's just not in the right place.

My apologies for not knowing where to post this, I'm still stumbling my way through !

I have two new cards that need to be added to the "Holiday-Christmas-Snowman" category. They are currently approved for the one that I chose (and managed to miss the Snowman subcategory at the time !) Is there a way that I can move them or will you need to do that for me ? They are numbers 678007 and 677906. Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

Could I please get my card 661095 moved from the "Chief Bridesmaid - General" category to the newly added category of "Chief Bridesmaid - Friend" category thanks.

It would seem that cards most often end up in the wrong category because of the addition of new sub-categories. Would it be possible to notify artist with cards in General or Other categories to check the cards when new sub-categories are added. That way maybe the artist could take more charge of insuring that their cards remain in appropriate categories.

The following cards also address these new chief bridesmaid categories (previously the only two options for sub-categories were General and Sister) I do not know if I should be suggesting moving other artists cards and would love to be the only one in these newly created categories but feel that if customers start using the new categories these artists may lose out simple because they took the time to do these card before the category creation. Also it mean that it is easier to find genuine general cards and may give more exposure to these artists as well.

Greetings!

Could the card PID #680352 be moved for me to Invitations - Bridal Shower - Destination Shower, please? When I submitted it, I had it in that category and also the Couples/Jack and Jill category, but, the reviewer didn't go for that. Anyway, it is clearly for a destination shower. I can't see any reason why this card cannot be in two categories, but, Destination is the better match for it.

A customer wanting a german language card will not feel like wading through 4 pages of non-german cards till he/she finally stumbles onto one. Nothing against the cards, but it's just not in the right place.

Hi Barbara...this is unavoidable as search term results as the terms in those cards are relevant and not misleading. Hopefully the shopper when presented with not optimal results (too many and not all relevant) will either a) refine their search terms (maybe add language) and/or b) look to the sidebar where there are suggested related categories highlighted (in this case German under Non-English / Other Languages).

Mary, can you be more specific about the keywords you think are a problem on this card? I can see no keywords that would lead to misleading search results for a card shopper. Also, I see no keywords that relate to "knees" so it's not clear why you've referenced it. Please advise. Thanks!

I thought one was in the business category for Christmas? Right now they are both in regular Holidays/Christmas/From all of us/group. Thanks for moving one of them
