opportunity to share cards UPDATE please read
Nov 9th, 2007, 8:37pm

This request came  from the wife of one of our heroic vets...

When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address.  If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get.

When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following:

         A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
          6900 Georgia Avenue, NW
          Washington, D.C. 20307-5001

If you approve of the idea, please pass it on to your e-mail list. Thank you!

Hi Denise-

I will put this message in my correspondence, too. This is a meaningful way to salute these brave men and women. I will send some cards, and I think there are lots of other ocasions that would be good: Veterans Day, Valentines Day, ec. Thank you for sharing.

Unfortunately, this letter has been going around for a couple of years, and
on the Yahoo groups I am on, several people wrote in to say their cards had
been returned. Snopes had it as FALSE

MAybe there is another way of getting cards to those soldiers?

Hi Denise
Makes you wonder why people do these things! You'd think they'd have better things to do with their time.

Well, GCU got cards to them through our "Support the Troops" effort a while back.  Any ideas, GCU, on how to get cards to the troops?  I think a lot of us would appreciate it!

Thanks,
Christie
