New - Filter for Card Requests Postings
Oct 9th, 2007, 1:12pm

We have added a filter to the Card Request feature.  We will be weeding out the "bad eggs" before posting them on the forum.

We apologize for the odd and invalid requests that have come through.

The "Request a Card" feature is very powerful and we appreciate your responsiveness.

I just love that card request feature!  Its kind of exciting to see what the shopper wants and then to get it posted up there for them to buy!  I think the filter will help alot, thanks Mindy.  I am also so curious who got the bulk order for the plain orange thanksgiving cards, nosy here LOL..Congrats to whoever got it!  I am hoping to get a bulk order someday...I hope, I hope Smiley

As far as I can tell, no order placed yet.  We'll follow up w/ the shopper again to make sure they got the link.

Thanks. That will help a great deal as I was getting e-mails for card requests that I couldn't read as they might have been bad eggs. Technology gets better every day Smiley Wink Grin kiss.

yeah would be nice to hear about the process...

Mindy....I guess an e-mail goes to the customer once they make a card request...is this the way it works???

maybe you can explain the whole end to end process...

Here's how things work today...

1. shopper sends email request for card (via a search that produced no results or the promotional sidebox "didn't find the perfect card?" on card category pages)

2. request email comes to GCUniverse and is approved/rejected

3. approved requests get posted on the forum

4. rejected requests either get responded to for more info, directed to an existing card selection, or ignored (no email address provided, no appropriate request, etc)

5. shopper gets an email from GCUniverse to confirm their request and tell them we've put it out to our artist community

6. GCU monitors Cards Wanted topic and when cards are created, an email is sent to shopper with link to new cards

We are watching this pretty closely and will make improvements over time.  We may for example put the artist directly in touch w/ the shopper via email so they can discuss exactly what the shopper wants.
