Hello,
Glad to know you've got your eye on the target!

We have not promoted GCU to card shoppers yet.

In order to have an adequate selection of initial cards for shoppers our goal before making marketing noise is 100 artists and 1,000 cards.   Since going live in late January we have nearly 50 artists and 400 cards - so we're half way there!

You can help us ramp up quickly by spreading the word to other artists via blogs, artist communities, etc.  Under Community use the Tell an Artist feature to tell others about GCU.

Aside from general web traffic, the real traffic will come when we suggest GCU cards in important date reminder emails pushed through our BigDates network of reminder service sites.  This piece of the puzzle takes a big more techno-magic and is scheduled for 3/1.

So, thank you for your patience as we ramp up.  Also, thank you for joining, for spreading the word and please continue to let us know what we can do to improve the site.

Mindy

ummm 1000 cards should not take too much time to achieve, as you say we already have nearly 50 Artists, I don't know the average number of cards each Artist has on the site but I would think that 20 per Artist is not out of sight...
Thank you Mindy for replying....must get more cards listed  Grin

Hello everyone  Smiley

I'm new too, just joined and got my storefront up. I heard about the site on a forum earlier today--art licensing or illustrators--but chock full of artists either way. Hopefully a lot of people will come over.

I'm impressed with the ease of use so far and the card widget is great. I've added to both blog and website so my ebay customers will see it as well.

I was looking for a viable card option and am hoping this is it! It's the one thing I haven't offered yet so I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. Thanks for the  opportunity!

Grin  I know that GCU is new and March 1st was only a little over a week ago, but...

...has ANYONE had any cards sell?

...to people other than friends and relatives.

Just curious.   Grin

Re: Sales - other sites statistics feed 3/16

Hi James,
I know you're asking artists for feeback but here's my 2 cents  Wink

The card sales statistics from the other BigDates sites are not yet being fed back to GCU.  We are targeting to have it live by the end of this week, 3/16  That means any cards sold right now on the other sites are not yet reflected in your GCU statistics.

I can tell you after a quick peek Roll Eyes that we have sold a respectable number of GCU cards on our other sites from a variety of artists and for a variety of occasions.

I will post here and under the GCU News & Announcements topics when sitewide statistics are live.

Grin  Thanks for the reply, Mindy!

Actually a reply from an admin is even better than other artist.  You know the big picture!

Glad to hear there are GCU sales!

I'll be excited to see the stats!   Grin

Cool Hi - Have you all decided to increase the amount paid to artists for cards to $.50 per card up from $.30? Not sure if I missed an announcement or am just seeing a (nice) glitch in the card sales report?

Thank you

Re: Sales - increased fees

YES, we've raised the fees to 50 cents a card and YOU are all very welcome.

We want to shake things up and paying near the going rate just wasn't pushing the envelope enough.

Enjoy!
