About Me:  A professional artist from Yorkshire, England, I've been painting for . . . . well, it seem's like forever! You know how it is, as a child painting and drawing are just things you love to do, as an adult, this habit of retreating into your own private world every time you hold a brush or pencil is still such an incredible thrill! For many years, painting was a hobby while I earned a living first as a joiner in the building trade, down a Yorkshire mine as an electrician, then as a telephone cable jointer. I was well into my 30's before I turned professional, it was risky financially but with the help of my wife and 2 lovely daughters, things have worked out better than we could have imagined. I have licensed artwork to many publishers of art cards, prints, stitch craft kits, calendars, and jigsaws, and sell original paintings through galleries and exhibitions. My traditional oil paintings are in a range of subjects, the countryside, farm animals, cats, dogs, children playing on the beach - all subjects that may be familiar to many people. My wife Brenda and I now also publish limited edition prints from our website lesliestones.co.uk and if anyone wants to contact us, even if just for a chat, we would love to hear from you.
