Americans are truly a patriotic lot. Veterans in particular are enormously proud of their military service which is why so many of them will enthusiastically display the American flag on their property. Of course, you need not be a veteran to have a love for your country. Patriotism runs deep in the American experience which is why so many great symbols of American can be found on a variety of things. Such things do include greeting cards and if you wish to send a patriotic person a card for the holidays - any holiday -- you might wish for the card to embody a patriotic theme.

It is recommended that you do follow some basic patriotic card etiquette in order to make sure the card does have the desired impact on the person that receives it.

First, you want to be sure that the card present a positive patriotic theme. Sadly, there are cards that mire images of patriotism in cynicism. While this crass display does appeal to some, it does not appeal to those who are traditional patriots. As such, it is best to look towards those patriotic cards which have an upbeat image and theme to them. Cards of that nature would be much more inclined to deliver on expected results.

This might be a little bit difficult to do and it may require some guesswork, but it is always good etiquette to select greeting cards that have patriotic symbols associated with the preferred time period for the recipient. America has been in existence since 1776. That means there are quite a number of different visual images which can be selected. You could look towards anything from the Spirit of '76 to modern images. Either way, you want the appropriate time period that will get the most positive impact from the person that receives it. Have you thought of purchasing a custom greeting card that plays a recorded sound? If you do you would want one that presents a celebratory sound that is patriotic to its core. Music for music's sake might not deliver in this regard. You definitely want to be sure that the music matches a sincerely patriotic theme. If not then it may fall flat.

As you can well see, patriotic card etiquette is not difficult to follow. All you need to do is employ a little basic wisdom into what would be the right approach to sending a patriotic greeting card.
