About Mindy

Mindy Rosso is available for guest blogs, radio and TV interviews on this topic and other uncommon occasions and holidays

With a Big Blue foundation of 12 years at IBM in Product Sales & Marketing I developed a strong commitment to respect for the customer and commitment to quality. Coupled with a personal desire to want to connect and stay in touch with people in my life I co-founded BigDates Solutions in 2000. BigDates, a leader in online reminder services, was built upon the value of helping people connect with one another during holidays and life’s special occasions, big & small and was coined “thoughtfulness made easy”. BigDates found success as the leading private label gift reminder service provider to large online retailers like 1800flowers, Barnes & Noble, Overstock.com, Lillian Vernon , FTD, and others . The business naturally evolved to include ancillary occasion related offerings like Birthday Calendar, the most popular Facebook application, amassing over 40 million users in less than 2 years and now licensed to American Greetings.

In 2007 Greeting Card Universe was born and quickly rose to be the world’s largest greeting card store boasting 550,000 cards and growing by 1,000 new cards each day. Greeting Card Universe’s vast and varied community content is fueled by a community of over 5,100 freelance artists from around the globe. True to its moniker “any card imaginable”, at Greeting Card Universe no occasion is too small nor insignificant to celebrate or be acknowledged with a paper greeting card. Our customers are delighted to find the perfect card, cards they can’t find at their local card store. If they don’t find the perfect card on our site they can request a custom card and our artists create new designs for their consideration within 48 hours and at no additional cost. As Community Manager I find great joy in discovering new cards for niche and uncommon occasions like thanking an organ donor’s family for the gift of life or congratulating a child on losing their first tooth or getting straight As on their report card. Being so in tune with our collection of cards I find myself exclaiming in my sleep “we’ve got a card for that!”.

I’d like to think that we are keeping the tradition and charm of paper greeting cards en vogue and putting the personal back into personal communications in today’s busy digital world.
