Tu B’Shevat

In 2012, the Jewish holiday Tu B’Shevat, also known as the New Year for Trees, Tu’ Bshvat, and Tu’ Bishvat,  begins on Tuesday, February 7th.

“And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of. But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy to praise the LORD withal. And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am the LORD your God.” — Leviticus 19:23-25

In the 20th century, it has become customary in Israel and elsewhere to plant trees during this time period. Tu B’Shevat is sometimes called “Jewish Arbor Day.”  In addition, the day may be marked by eating a new fruit, or familiar fruits such as figs, grapes, olives, pomegranates and dates, or dried fruit or preserves, and may also include a seder.

Greeting Card Universe offers customized Tu’ Bshvat greeting cards featuring beautiful, unique designs to send to every member of your family for the holiday known as “Jewish Arbor Day.”

What Are People Saying About Greeting Card Universe?
“Very good service and I am really pleased with the cards I received. I liked to be able to change the words inside, as well as the font and size. The choice of cards is very satisfactory too. Although the cards are a little on the expensive side, I will definitely use this site again.” —Julie, January 19, 2012
